Project 5 : The mask ( Speculative )

 Feeling-Abstract / Flexible /Collage
Student must make a feeling mask produced from a interpretation of a person's face recorded in reaction when he/she entering a room/space. Space allotted to describe one of the followings item ; glorifying space, creepy space, living happy space, sad space or other area deemed appropriate. Production mask should use 'Paper Mache' as the main material and the mask should be coloured.
Must upload minimum 5 photos and some describtion of the mask making process  on student's website.
Medium: paper mache, colour, website

The ingredients i used to make my mask is as following :
(1) toilet tissue

(3) Butter paper
(4) Wet tissue

Some preparation work has to b done before start making the mask. We were tearing the butter paper into pieces and soak in water.

Start putting the paper on face. Wet tissue and toilet paper were used as a base.
Then, put the butter paper on the toilet paper piece by piece. The tapioca flour was used to stick the paper together after boiled water was added.

putting butter paper

After 30 minutes, the mask was taken off from my face and put under the fan to let it dry. But it was not hard enough. So i continue to add butter paper until the mask become harder. After that, let it dry under the sunlight for around 1 hour. Then the mould is finished with a nice face shape.

I had decided to do a sad feeling mask. Then i try to google to find more idea on how to design and draw the mask.
My idea comes from this picture. Thx to uncle google.^^
tried to sketch out the idea
After draw on the mask, i used water colour to colour the mask ( only black and white was used)

Here is the process of colouring the mask. It is a sad feeling mask. I imgine that someone who just lost his/her beloved for example father. After the funeral , when he/she enter father's room , the hot tears welled up in his/her eyes when saw the bed, capboard that father used before. This is what i trying to do.
For the puzzles, it represent the broken heart when thinking about the beloved one.

The mask is DONE!!!!!

Project 4(B) : Blueprint ( Paraline )

 Axonometric- Shade/shadows
Based on the project 4A students are required to produce drawings of plan and elevations(front, right, left and back)based on the model complete before.
Students also need to compose an axonometric drawing from the model and must be in monochrome.
Medium : A3 cartridge & board , pencil , monochrome colour
Objective : students are able to contemplate and documented their work. Attention to technical       drawing(axonometric) is crucial as an alternative to perspective drawing.

First , measured the model properly using measure rule.

Then, draw a draft and write down the measurement.

Start to work on the cartridge paper. I draw the guildline first before start to draw and erase the guildline after
complete the drawing to my drawing in a proper scale. The scale i used is 1: 2.5 , 1:4 and 1: 1.5.
Start colour using colour pencil ( red and white )

These is the final products. An axonometric drawing ( trixonometric ). 2 sheets of plan and elevation drawing.
